Our first week with Noah

Noah has definitely changed our world, but with a face like this it makes long nights much easier. His jaundice is almost gone and he sleeps anywhere from 2 to 4 hours at a time. I am trying to figure out a way for Tyler to do some of the night feedings.
Tyler's family came for the weekend to meet their second grandchild. We had a great time with them and appreciate their encouragement and help along with my parents that have been here since early September awaiting Noah's arival.

Noah is one week old today 9/29. Noah and I celebrated right at 4:12 am with a feeding.

He loves his hands in his face. We found that they wake him in the night so we snuggle them into his blanket and tight as we can.

Grandpa Ficht holding his second grandson this year. Randy has proven to be a master gardener and sprucing up our yard. Tyler and Randy planted a 15 gallon tree in our backyard on September 15th as a happy 1 year in our house and celebration of the new life coming to our family.

Coming Home

Today we came home!!!

So far Noah does three things:

1. He eats

2. He sleeps

3. He poops

He hasn't said anything yet that's quotable. We'll keep you updated.

Here's a few more pictures...

Someone asked for a full body shot (this a G rated blog, so we did the fully clothed version)

Noah's Here!!!!

Hey everyone, Well for those who dont know, Aly had Noah on september 22 at
4:12 AM. He weighed 7 lbs 15.5oz, and was 21 inches long. We're pretty tired
but very happy. It was not the kind of birth that we thought was going to
happen. She wen't into hard labor at 1AM, at 2:30 her water broke. We got to
the hospital at 3 and she was ready to start pushing at 3:30. The nurse
actually had to hold the baby in a bit because the doctor wasn't at the hospital
yet. Aly didn't get any spinal or other pain medication, so was very much in
pain, but did a great job!!!! There are a couple of pictures, enjoy!!!
We love you all!!!

WAITING

Waiting has never been harder. I have been having contractions for over a month and was on partial bed rest ending work sooner than anticipated. Contractions have continued sending us to the hospital twice for false alarms. I have even had contractions every 3-4 minutes for hours. Not very fun since they haven't lead to much progression in getting closer to delivery. Currently I am 1 cm and have no signs of effacement (which is backward from a few weeks ago). Having false alarms has gotten grandma and grandpa Ficht up here and ready for Noah's arrival. Bedding is made, curtains in process, house clean, and gardening up to date. So patience is a virtue that we are all learning. I am currently 38 weeks and 1 day, so Noah is full term. Noah is healthy and so am I and that's whats important. We will post a picture as soon as I figure out how with our new camera.
